Frequently asked questions about buying an offsite static caravan or lodge

Do I need planning permission for an off site static caravan?

This is probably the question that we get asked most often! The simple answer is that it depends on your circumstances and your local council. Planning permission is always advisable, but there are several instances where planning permission may not be required.

Can I live in a static caravan off site?

Modern static caravans are well equipped with features such as double glazing and central heating making them suitable for yearlong use.

BS3632 is the British Standard to which residential park homes (and some lodges) are built. They are suitable for permanent residence (depending on the site licence and/or relevant planning permission – see above) and all year-round use.

EN1647 is the European standard for caravans and lodges, which are suitable for temporary or seasonal holiday use only.

Can I put a static caravan on a holiday park?

Some holiday parks allow customers to buy a used static caravan to put on their park. However, there are likely to be additional fees involved (delivery, siting, connection to services etc). If you have a holiday park in mind, we would suggest that you check with them before you buy an off site static caravan.

Do you deliver and how much will it cost?

We can deliver your new static caravan or lodge anywhere in the UK. The cost will depend on a number of factors including location, size and whether you require siting. Please get in touch for a free quote.

Will you site and connect the static caravan?

As long as you have a concrete base and we have easy access, we should be able to site your new static caravan or lodge. Unfortunately we do not offer a connection service. All plumbing, electricity and gas connections should be checked by fully qualified professionals after siting.

Will you buy my used static caravan and take it off site?

Yes! We are always looking for new stock! As long as your used static caravan is in reasonable condition, we will consider buying it. Please get in touch.
